What a strange name for a mushroom that brings you back to life, “1up.” Was it a bad translation or did the Japanese people just want to keep things simple? I guess it was a “1up” because when you died you sort of just fell all the way down to no where.  BUT if you had eaten (more like absorbed) this green mushroom you had a second chance to….. die. Anyway, how come you couldn’t eat the evil brown mushrooms with fangs. It would have been cool if you ate them and they gave you like a special power. What’s up with an Italian plumber eating mushrooms anyway was there no other food supply? You and I both know there is no way someone can get that fat by just eating mushrooms. I bet Luigi would come by and trade him the mushrooms for like a large pizza or something. Luigi seemed to have a thing for the color green anyway so green mushrooms must have been his favorite.

Old Skool Days

Remember the times when you played the Nintendo so much you got blisters on your thumb? Well I do! *sigh* yeah those were the days….humongous blisters that you had to “pop” and put a band-aid on in order to keep playing (it didn't hurt as much as you would think).  I kind of miss those old controllers where the most complex thing you had to do was complete a “half circle” and push B or A. The controllers kept getting more and more complex (did we really need R and L?). Now that there is the Wii the control itself went back to its old school simplicity but there is a whole new type of complexity with the sensor and all of that. I’ve enjoyed watching the evolution of the Nintendo controllers, but in the end there is nothing like the original.

            This inspired me to make a cell phone holder that looks like the old Nintendo controller. I’ve had a lot of fun with it so I thought I’d make some more to pass on to my fellow gamers. BUT I’m not rich I’m on student pay (that means I’m poor) so if you want one you gotta pay for it. Look at it this way, at least your getting something unique that everyone else is NOT going to have…and people will stop you on the street and ask you where you got it. If you really do get asked you can make up any creative answer you want!
